Spice Cake (Mom)

Cook 1 cup of raisins in 2 cups of water. Cook 10-15 minutes or until soft. Set aside raisins and remaining juice.

In mixing bowl add:

1 cup sugar

½ cup butter

1 egg

1 tsp soda

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp cloves

½ tsp allspice

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pour in raisins and remaining juice (about 1 cup liquid).

Add 2 cups flour and mix altogether.

Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Serve with spice sauce.
