4 cups All Bran cereal
2 cups Bran Flakes 1 cup olive oil
2 cups boiling water
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 quart buttermilk (or just add 3-4 Tbs lemon juice or vinegar to 1 quart milk)
4 eggs, beaten
5 cups flour
5 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
nuts, fruit, or anything else you want to add. (We love to add chopped up apples)
Mix cereals and shortening. Pour boiling water over cereal and let sit. Add sugar, milk and eggs. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to cereal mixture. Store covered in fridge. Bake 425 degrees for 20 min, or until done.
This recipe is great because it makes a lot but you can keep in in the fridge and make just a few at a time.
